South Island Invitational Competition and March dance
What a fantastic competition day we had.
The day started early for many of us; we were at the hall by 8.00am to build the dressing rooms and set the hall up for the competitions. Thanks to everybody who helped to do this. A huge thanks to Michael for sorting out our computer problems at the last minute. We couldn’t have a dance competition without music.
For the first time we had a tie in the Highland Hop and decided that rather than have a dance-off we would award two first equal placings. Congratulations to Anne and Richard, and Pippa and Scott. It was really good to see such a good standard of dancing in a fun section.
There was great dancing from all the competitors during the day and we thank each and every one of you for supporting our competition.
Congratulations to Mary-Ann and Geoff for representing our club so well, along with Mary-Ann and Richard (Timaru).
Congratulations to everybody!
After a bit of downtime for dinner, the competitions were followed by a great night of general dancing to the fantastic music of Cactus. The dance floor was full for most of the evening and there was a great atmosphere in the hall. There were definitely some very tired bodies by the end of the evening.
