Age Concern Expo Demonstration
On the 1st October (Thursday) afternoon, the Dunedin Rock and Roll Revival Club stepped out in style with a lively group of eight dancers ready to bring some vintage magic to the Age Concern Expo held at the Concord Baptist Church. Many organisations participated in the Expo, such as the MS Society, St John’s Ambulance, Free legal advice and SuperGrans selling delicious pikelets.
The dancers arrived with big smiles and when the music kicked in, the floor came alive as we moved in sync to the beat (hopefully), feeling energetic, lighthearted, and full of joy. The eight of us swapped partners, spun, and twirled, showing just how timeless this dance really is.
It wasn’t long before some of the audience and staff members were clapping along, tapping their feet, and cheering us on. That’s what it’s all about, encouraging active aging, keeping the spirit alive, sharing laughter, and proving that music and dance are truly for everyone, no matter the age.
After the demo, all of us gathered at the Concord Tavern to have coffee and chips, and we left feeling grateful to have been part of such a lovely community event. ❤️
